What is Glamping?
Glamping is glamorous camping. Picture a large white wall tent perched on a platform overlooking the rapids of the River. Surrounded by nature, you are enjoying all the amenities you would find in an upscale hotel suite.
Known as “Glamping,” glamorous camping is a hot new trend in weddings. Glamping at The Music Camp is an over-the-top experience you will cherish forever. Imagine taking in the beauty of the Pacolet River from your large white canvas wall tent perched on a massive platform high above the rapids. The inside of your tent will be carpeted, the walls and ceiling draped in decorative fabrics. Each tent is beautifully appointed in plush furniture. Relax with your new spouse on the observation deck outside, or plunge into your queen size bed with plush thread count, and let the soothing rapids lull you to sleep. The Pearl, our newly constructed Gypsy Wagon, is just a few steps from the tent, equipped with a flushing toilet and an adjacent hot shower. Wake up in the morning and enjoy a short stroll to The Cotton Gin Stage for fresh coffee and tea, local baked goods, and an enticing selection of seasonal fruit.
What is the capacity of The Music Camp?
The Music Camp boasts fifty-five acres of wooded riverfront. We can accommodate over 700 cars in our main field. Additional parking around the grounds provides 400 more spaces in the car camping areas. We can host a maximum of 2,500 attendees before renting neighboring property. We can accommodate a maximum of 2,000 for camping.
What are the specifications of your stages?
The Greenfield Stage in the main field yields 20’ x 50’ of covered performance space. On the backstage, our covered loading deck measures 15’ x 50’. On Stage Right there is 20’ x 40’ of covered bus parking for rain or shine load-in. On Stage Left, there is a covered boat with deck and galley that serves for a unique green room. The Greenfield Stage is wired with 200-amp service on a dedicated panel box for sound equipment. There is fluorescent house lighting and colored flood lighting.
The Cotton Gin Stage measures 12’ x 18’, and is wired with house lighting and 110 outlets.
How late at night may amplified music be broadcast?
Spartanburg County reserves the right to impose a sound ordinance starting nightly at 10:00pm. The Music Camp self imposes a curfew on amplified music at 12:00am midnight. Traditionally, we have not experienced wide ranging noise complaints, as long as the music is kept at a reasonable decibel and ends by midnight. You may petition the county for a variance on the noise ordinance. You can find information on this process here. No matter the variance, out of respect for our neighbors we ask that amplified music be finished by 12:00am.
What kinds of utilities and amenities can be found at The Music Camp?
The Music Camp has electricity and Spartanburg City Water. Throughout the tree line in our main field and the riverfront camping areas, recycled traffic lights illuminate the forest canopy. Water and power are available throughout the campground, and near the ceremony and reception groves. There are 110, 30, 50, and 60-amp outlets available in the main field to accommodate food and craft vendors. There is a three bin stainless steel sink, a commercial ice machine, and merch box (for storing ice) located in the covered vendor area. There is plenty of flat and shaded riverfront camping with electricity and water nearby.
What about rain? Are there covered areas to get out of weather?
Yes. There is a 60’ x 80’ covered shelter facing the Greenfield Stage in the main field. 500 people can stay out of the sun and rain. There is an additional 20’ x 60’ covered area perfect for foodservice and dining, or showcasing vendors and artists. The Music Camp management is happy to connect you with bonded and insured providers of tents and temporary shelters for your events.
